Robbins reef lighthouse
It had been a wonderful day weather wise, this second of June, and I had enjoyed it spending the afternoon taking photo's. Now with the day over I was headed back home on the ferry to Staten Island. Having travelled back and forth on this boat more times than I could remember over the past two decades, I knew that catching the 8 o'clock ferry at this time of year would have our boat passing the old lighthouse in the harbor near St. George just around sundown. If the stars of fortune were aligned just right, I might have the chance to capture the sun going down right behind it as our ship passed, and just in case it did, I made sure I would be leaning over the railing with my camera if that happened.
