I've lived on Staten Island for over 20 years now and as I used to ride into Manhattan each day, the smoggy haze that at times used to hang over the New York skyline, would ruin a lot of potentially good shots. But thankfully such days are now long gone. On this particular morning as I stood at the front of the ferry on my ride to the city, there was a foggy haze blanketing the city scape, a quality of atmosphere that enhances as opposed to the old smog that detracted from a scene. That combined with the warm sunrise (and no small amount of editing on my computer) combined to turn this view of Manhatten into a kind of pastel like art work. (For those of you not familiar with the NYC skyline, the building just a tad left of dead center with the pointy top is the Empire State building).
