My first time spending an entire day photographing here at Wolfe's pond in eight years. Given their long life span it's reasonable to assume this is the same swan I saw back then. So I hiked to the other end of the lake to see if his mate was sitting on a new nest hopefully in a more accessible spot than the last time.
Back then the nest could not even be viewed because it was surrounded on all sides by tall reeds and a wide brook surrounded the reeds on all sides like a moat. But my curiosity pushed me to make the long trip to find out none the less. And I was sure if the king of the lake was here shooing away the geese as he swam by, his better half was sure to be found by me later on that new nest.
