  • Though it's not "Vandana-esk" it is my first decent looking mid-air capture of a bird so far. My 70-300mm lens has been fine for much of the shots I take at the cozier confines of Clove Lake, but here at the spacious environs of Wolfs Pond, a longer tele AF lens is a must and would do wonders for my results. But for now I'll just keep on plugging till I can afford one. And every once in a while something will fly by right in front of me and I'll get lucky, like I did here.

  • This pair of swans nests at different spots on this lake every year. They are the king and queen of Wolfe's pond, and the male makes sure every goose and person knows it.

  • Walking down "cottage row" towards Henderson ave. in Snug Harbor, the road takes a decidedly downward angle as it leads you towards the picturesque "healing gardens", the place that I was headed here as I've gotten many nice shots there before. As the road dipped lower and lower, the field to my left rose higher and higher, finally putting me at eye level with the many pint sized inhabitants of gardens there. As it did I happened to look to my left and noticed a robin hunting for food in the tall flower laden grass, and decided the simple scene still managed to look pleasing enough to the eye to record on film.
  • As I walked through the Healing Gardens I saw turtles and an Ibis, and people walking their dogs, and then I happened to see this egret fly by in front of me , and just barely got my camera up to my face and snapped this shot before it flew off in the distance.
