Both the last time I came here and discovered the nest and today I tried to get a picture of one of the parents as it landed. Finally succeeded several times today. But none of them were very sharp. Next year I hope to be more successful in that regard.

  • One of the ways mating pairs communicate with each other is beak touching.

  • For most of the day I told the many people who saw my fancy looking equipment and walked up to me, that I saw only 3 chicks, but a couple of photographers told me there were four. This is one of the best shots showing how right they were.
  • I had spotted this osprey perched high up on this tree while photographing that heron's nest. So after getting my last shot of the nest I packed up my gear and walked under the tree looking to get a clear shot of him. OF course you can't sneak up on a bird, so he looked down at me quite intently as I was setting up my gear to get these shots.
