  • The butterflies aren't the only beautiful inhabitants to see here at the Butterfly Gardens
  • When I left the house this morning loaded with gear to capture lots of fall subjects at the botanical gardens in the Bronx, little did I know I'd end up at the Bronx zoo instead. But when I walked through the front gate the guard informed me the Gardens was closed on Mondays.<br /> <br /> Fortunately not only am I a member of the Botanical Gardens I've been a member of the zoo for decades, and it is just across the street. Unfortunately that entrance was aaaaall the way around on the other side of this massive gardens. But I did have very nice company on the long walk, as a woman came up behind me, she too was a member coming to capture the colors of the fall, and forgot that the gardens was closed on Monday's. <br /> <br /> But like me she was a member of the Bronx zoo as well. So we decided to walk there together and had a pleasant time. I showed here some of my pictures ans she liked them so much she asked me to send her my website link. I did try. If anyone knows Edie let her know I I tried every combination of Edietheatrelady2000@gmail.com I could think of and none of them worked, and give her my web link instead.<br /> <br /> Now I didn't bring any of the lenses with me I normally would if I was going to the zoo. One lens that translates well to both locales is my 105mm micro lens. And the best place of all in the zoo to put it to use is the butterfly gardens, which was one of the exhibits I made sure to visit.

  • Not every pretty looking thing that flies about in the butterfly gardens is actually a butterfly.
