This was my first visit to my beloved Bronx Zoo in 20 years. There was no Butterfly gardens back then, and I had no Idea one existed now. While my membership to the zoo (which I've maintained to this day despite moving to Staten Island) allowed me free pass to the exhibit, lucky me, I didn't bring any of my closeup lenses with me. Trying to keep my bag at least somewhat light I didn't think I was likely to need one, so I left them all home. Fortunately my 16-85mm zoom came through in a pinch. Good thing Nikon makes such good optics, I really had to crop these shots down to make up for the lack of close focusing.
