Meditation masters
It was a lovely spring day, and I took advantage of it by coming here to the Brooklyn botanical gardens and capture the wonderful spring colors. As I passed the popular Rose garden I remembered the row of flowers the staff planted along side, that blooms every year.
This was the same flower bed that I practiced my auto focus skills on over a dozen years ago, back when I was still having so much frustration getting my D300 (my first auto focus DSLR) to auto focus on what I wanted when I wanted it to, that I did all the focusing manually as if it was one of my film camera's from 30 years ago. But there were so many shots I was missing out on that I couldn't ever get if I was going to rely on my manual focusing skills, that I decided to walk over to this self same flower bed and not leave until I consistently captured shots of the bed feeding on the flowers there. I did and got the nicest shots there than I've ever gotten since.
So not having tried getting a bee foraging shots there in several years now, I decided today was as good a day as any to go back , given most other locals around the grounds did not look as promising as the lighting I saw here.
After slowly working my way from one end to the other, I passed two gentlemen sitting on one of the benches enjoying the gardens, God's glorious sunshine, and each others company. One of them asked me about my equipment and what I was trying to capture as I passed by them. I showed him some of my pictures and he liked them so much, he decided to give me back something and gave me a free meditation session there in the park.
