Images in most peoples minds of city life, from people who don't live in one, would rarely include a scene like this. That is why I like to travel all over our metropolis to see what each locale holds for myself. Here in Jersey City many scenes were warm and wonderful.

  • While I was the Butterfly Garden's here at the Bronx Zoo, I watched as butterfly mistook a little boys orange shirt for a flower and he started crying and shaking to get it off. His family laughed and calmed him down enough to finally get it off of him.<br />

Fortunately not all the children viewed the inhabitants of this picturesque enclosure with such dread. In contrast here, a few minutes after that incident, this young girl was positively delighted when a butterfly landed on her hand.

  • I saw this image coming, but I had to react really fast to capture this scene with the train coming round the bend. I really wanted to get lower and over a smidge to make the little girl more focal to the shot, but I was concerned that it would have unnerved her mother.
  • A spirited volleyball match running into the early evening at Battery Park City recreated to look like a painting. I'm very selective about which of my photo's I convert to this type of style. I really like the way this one came out.

  • I don't do it often but there are some of my images that I like portrayed as a painting even better than I do as a photo. This is one of them.
  • Peace photo man, peace...
  • Now THIS guy was special.
  • I happened upon this spot in the park late last summer and immediately realized it would be a perfect spot to practice on improving my feeble panning skills, and eventually give me some nice photo's to add to my collection as well. I still need A LOT more practice, but I am slowly getting better.

  • Why walk when you can ride? The girl actually has an identical pooch on a leash running along on the other side of the bike in front, but the dog on the left has the right idea.

  • It was June 11th start of the World Cup, and soccer fever had arrived at the City's shore. Here in the Wall Street district, at a spot I call Pub Alley, some kids shared their enthusiasm for their sport.
