  • I wasn't sure what this young man was having such difficulty with, as I could seeing him definitely struggling with something at waters edge. When I asked him he said he was having a devil of a time trying to remove his fish hook out of the head of the fish he just caught. <br /> <br /> Not wanting to hurt it any more than it was with this hook near it's eye, he really worked hard at set it free. I would have stayed longer to see if he succeeded, but I had a date with a heron's nest and I wanted to get to it in case something really interesting happened. So I never was able to find out how this man and the fish saga turned out. <br /> I hope for the fishes sake he succeeded.

  • The city runs a festival in august for 3 Saturday's in a row where they close off parts of Park ave. and Broadway from the Brooklyn bridge all the way up to the lower half of Central Park. <br /> <br /> On this day I was off and decided to take it in. I never made it uptown - I never made it past the Brooklyn bridge because the giant water slide they set up in Foley Square was so much fun I stayed there throughout the whole festival.
