Back in the days before digital, my old manual focus 105mm micro was my all time favorite lens. It was an ideal focal length for shooting all sorts of subjects. One of the first lenses I purchased when I brought my first DSLR 3 years ago was its' autofocus counterpart. Now this newest version has all the optical superlatives that my original one did, and with the addition of having a wider maximum aperture, it was a perfect choice to reach into my bag for when I wanted to capture this shot on my latest trip to Prospect Park.

  • As I walked under the vine filled canopy here at the Conservatory Gardens in Central Park, I came upon a group of girls who asked me to take a few shots of them with their point and shoot camera, which I happily did. A little while later when we again crossed paths, I asked them to return the favor and stand here for a moment or two while I practiced my fledgling skills at taking HDR photography on this cloudy day.

  • Now if you can get an attachment for a tv, a remote, and a cup holder, it would be the perfect machine. You could relax, get fresh air and exorcise all at the same time.
