A fine spring morning out at the lake
Leaving Clove Lake very late in the morning one fine spring day, I looked to my right and noticed how perfectly the staff lined up the rowboats (not a common sight - BELIEVE ME when I say). Combined with the nice pop of color coming from the flowering tree behind the stone bridge, I recognized a truly rare shot in the making for this location, and decided to forgo grabbing a late brunch (my stomach was not happy about that decision).
I walked back and forth for a little bit till I found just the right spot to setup my tripod. Then for no small amount of time I waited until I was able to capture some people walking over the bridge at the same time as getting some ducks to float by in front of it. The lens that took this shot was not one of my Nikon's and originally the shot was not that sharp. Fortunately over the years I have acquired better and better editing software and plugins which have improved this shots sharpness markedly. Which is a good thing as even though I brought a new Nikon zoom to replace the under performing one that took this shot originally. I've been coming back nearly every spring to try and get this shot again, and all the elements that came together to create this scene have never all come together since.
When it comes to taking photo's, you can NEVER count on saying "I'll come back and get this shot another day". Each scene is it's own collection of unique objects frozen in time in a manor that in all likelihood, will never be reproduced exactly the same way ever again.
