On this November day, the last great weather day we would get this year, I was fortunate enough to be off, so I trekked out to Battery Park City looking for a nice sunset shot to add to my collection. I found one.

  • On this November day, the last great weather day we would get this year, I was fortunate enough to be off, so I trekked out to Battery Park City looking for a nice sunset shot to add to my collection. I found one.
  • On this chilly February evening, the clear sky and my decision to stuff my camera into what little space was left in my back pack, led to this shot of Brooklyn as I headed home on the ferry, during a time known by some photographers as the "blue hour". I had never heard of the term till now. It's the time after sundown and before the sky starts going completely black that it turns a really saturated blue - COOL!!
  • We don't get massive snow storms each and every winter here in New York, most years we may get one storm in the city proper that gives us as much 6 or 7 inches. So whenever a New Yorker says "Do you remember the blizzard of - insert year - " we can all remember fairly well just which one they were talking about. 2010 was a whole other story. If someone said do you remember the blizzard of 2010, we'd all say in disgust "Which one?"<br /> <br /> So on this 10th of February, when I woke up and saw the snow was going to be up past my knees AGAIN, I determined I was not going to spend my whole day off from work shoveling snow again. With that in mind, after joining my neighbors in the early morning digging each other out, I headed over to Silver Lakes park to stop for a few hours and "smell the roses". Or smell whatever one does try and smell when all of creation is covered under a foot of snow.

  • Planes weren't the only thing that this February blizzard grounded.

  • For those of you who love Where's Waldo, can you find the lone sea gull who left his fellow gulls to mingle with the geese in the foreground?
  • The wind and snow had it's peaks and valley's. At the worst I couldn't see with the snow blowing right into my face and lens. Here there was a momentary lull, and I took advantage of the opportunity.
  • My plan after shoveling on this all day snow storm, was to go to the Central Park zoo, and finally capture pictures of the snow monkey's frolicking in the snow, before going home again to shovel out my house one more time before dinner. However my long held dream would have to wait yet again because the blizzard was so bad that the zoo had to close as they tried to dig themselves out. With that option denied, I decided to head into the park proper, looking to capture scenes of beauty the likes of which tropical paradise's can only dream of.
  • Even in the midst of a massive blizzard one can find scenes of pure tranquility and beauty.
