My first trip to the farthest most remote lake at Clove Lakes park in over 15 years rewarded me for my efforts.

  • Not far from the main entrance to the grounds here at Wave Hill you will walk into the Great lawn. It overlooks the Hudson river and Palisades. The view is marvelous. All over the grounds lovely flowers and plants are everywhere. These grew at the base of that wall that over looks the Hudson.

  • Arriving at a favored early morning spot here at Clove lake of our Great blue heron, I saw he was nowhere to be found. But as I came to this spot I immediately realized why he was absent. I saw my friend Tony sitting at one of his favorite fishing spots, and our enterprising heron lurking close by. With 4 hungry mouths to feed, why waste energy fishing when you can have someone else don't for you.

  • It was the 6th of June and I was certain all the eggs laid by our resident pair of great blues here at Clove Lakes would have hatched. After observing the nest for just a little while I was able to see that just like last year, they had 4 babies, and all looked to be in excellent shape, wonderful!!
