  • Here's papa, or mamma, fresh back from another hunting trip for the kiddies. The four chicks have grown quite big and no doubt, so has their appetite.

  • Heading back for the bus home after a great day of shooting here at Clove Lakes, I came across this track coach preparing his new troops on how to run in a relay race.

  • This is what I came to the lake to hopefully capture. One of the chicks (quite large now) would from time to time jump up and spread it's wings and feeling what is like to be air born, even if for only a few seconds.
  • When it would get windy you could see one of the big young ones leave the nest entirely and climb up this branch several feet above the nest near the top of the tree, and flap it's wings mightily into the direction of the wind, no doubt teaching itself the skills it will need to learn in order to fly.
